As Director for Technology and Assessment in the Office of Academic & Career Success, Jeff provides leadership and vision to technology and information systems for learning support, career services, and academic advising staff so they can best provide high-quality service and support to students. This work includes serving as the product owner for a number campus-wide systems such as the Gateway, Advisor Notes, Starfish, and Handshake that serve faculty, staff, and students across the entire institution. Jeff is also the institutional Data Steward for the Advising and Career data domain. Jeff has worked in his current role since 2012. Previously, he worked for fifteen years in the L&S Honors Program, nine of those years as its Associate Director. His educational background is in anthropology, archaeology, and geoscience from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

An avid amateur astronomer and astrophotographer for over 35 years, Jeff greatly enjoys spending nights outdoors under the stars capturing images of a wide array of subjects including the moon, planets, sun, nebulae, globular clusters, galaxies, and more. Amateur astronomy satisfies his strong sense of curiosity and desire to learn new things and engages his sense of awe and wonder about the universe, its complexity, and its beauty.
