New Advising & Career Services Staff Academy (NACSSA)
Faculty are welcome to join NACSSA to learn more about various UW–Madison student support offices, such as: Financial Aid, Dean of Students, University Health Services, and the McBurney Disability Resource Center. Experienced professionals will facilitate small group discussions and case studies, and based on participants’ experiences working with students.
Supervisor Community of Practice
Open to supervisors of advisors, career services or learning support staff, this learning community meets monthly during the academic year to discuss supervision best practices & challenges, share resources, and learn from others.
Tools Access
Faculty who are new to campus or new to an advising, career services or learning support role may need authorization and/or training to access several key student information tools.
Calendar of Events
All faculty and faculty advisors are welcome to attend any of our professional development opportunities. Topics vary and encompass student development theory, advising techniques, career services-related topics, and student learning support resources.
Annual UW–Madison Advising & Career Services Conference
The UW–Madison Advising & Career Services Conference is the largest advisor professional development event of the year. The conference features a keynote speaker, engaging concurrent sessions, and opportunities to network with colleagues.
