Michelle Jackson
Position title: Director of the Career Exploration Center
Email: michelle.jackson@wisc.edu
As the Director of the Career Exploration Center, Michelle leads the CEC team in providing career services support to all undergraduate students along the continuum of exploration. The Career Exploration Center aids students through intentional exploration of their interests, values, and skills. Undergraduate students can benefit from working with the CEC via career advising appointments, attending workshops and programs, and by utilizing their extensive website resources. The CEC welcomes student referrals to any of these engagement opportunities and encourages staff to reach out directly to request a career exploration program tailored to the unique needs of their specific student population.
Michelle has had the privilege to work within The Career Exploration Center since 2017 and has a significant background in clinical mental health counseling, where she worked alongside teens and families as they navigated the complexities of various mental health challenges. She earned her Bachelors degree from UW-Madison in Psychology and her Masters from UW-Milwaukee in Community Counseling.
Generally, Michelle can be found enjoying the Wisconsin outdoors – camping, hiking, biking and kayaking. In the winter she generally hibernates indoors and sits by the fire with Harry Potter. Favorite places in Madison: cozy study nooks on campus, like the Wisconsin Historical Society.
