Steppingblocks Training for Career Services Staff

Steppingblocks is a tool that utilizes web scraping and machine learning to be a source of alumni and placement data beyond the first destination survey. It can inform our work advising students on various career paths, developing employer relations strategies, and building alumni engagement. Steppingblocks contains location, employment information, skills, and other data on UW-Madison alumni.

This virtual training session is being offered by the Office of Academic & Career Success, in partnership with the Office of Data, Academic & Institutional Research and Steppingblocks.

The training will cover:

  • An introduction to Steppingblocks at UW-Madison
  • An overview of Steppingblocks data
  • A full walk-through of the platform
  • Use cases and examples for career services
  • Resources and how to get support

When: May 30, 9:00 – 10:30 am

Where: Virtual via Zoom
