Motivational Interviewing is an interactive workshop and training that will provide opportunities to explore the theory and practice behind the concept of Motivational Interviewing (MI).
The concept of Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. MI is practiced with an underlying spirit (or way of being with people) and a set of core skills, and in this session participants will engage in experiential exercises meant to build this spirit and the core skills of MI. As a group, we will consider ways to apply MI to work with students and practice these skills in pairs and small groups.
