Thank you to our campus colleagues in SuccessWorks at the College of Letters and Science, Wisconsin School of Business, Center for Pre-Health Advising, and Cross-College Advising Service for your support & sharing your innovative ideas with the advising community.
The following information is one example of how to create a “waiting room” for students during drop-ins using Google Forms and Google Spreadsheets. Follow the three steps below to create your own drop-in process:
1. Watch these videos
- Overview of the drop-in process
- How to create your student intake form and form responses (advisor view)
- See Student Intake Form and Intake Form Responses below
- How to set up the drop-ins queue (student view)
- See Drop-Ins Queue below
2. Check out these sample forms
- Student Intake Form – This is what the student will complete to get into the queue for drop-in advising.
- Intake Form Responses (Advisor View) – This is a sheet advisors will see with all student responses from the Student Intake Form. Multiple advisors can view the form and triage students at one time.
- Drop-Ins Queue (Student View) – This is the queue your student will see to know where they are on the drop-in waiting list.
