- In Outlook, select File > Manage Rules & Alerts > New Rule.
- Under Step 1: Select a template > Move messages from someone to a folder.
- Under Step 2: Edit the rule description > click on people or public group > type in advisor-link@g-groups.wisc.edu > click on specified > select the folder you’d like the email to be sent to.
What are best practices for emailing Advisor-link?
- Proofread! Avoid sending emails with errors, missing attachments, and emailing multiple times about the same information.
- Avoid emails with large attachments like flyers and presentations, when possible. Instead, link to a website or shared folder.
- If you are sharing information ultimately intended for students, write your email content so it addresses a student audience, not a staff audience. This way, staff are more easily able to copy and share your information with their students.
- Make your content accessible! Learn more about email accessibility

-
- Use plain language and avoid acronyms
- Use descriptive link text
- Include alternative text for images and graphics
