Helping Skills and Practice: April Session
Helping Skills and Practice is a series of interactive workshops designed for staff members working in advising, career services, and learning support, and can be especially helpful for new community members. This workshop offers a space to strengthen foundational skills and explore key theories that inform and guide our work with students.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities, peer discussion, and practical exercises that can be applied directly to day-to-day work. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding or refresh your approach, this workshop provides a collaborative environment for growth and reflection.
🌟 April Session: Coffee & Consultation
During this session:
- You’ll have a chance to get feedback on a student case study/scenario you bring to the group.
- We’ll provide a simple framework to help each of you serve as “consultants” to one another.
- You’ll walk away with ideas and possible solutions from your colleagues!
- Coffee and bagels will be provided.
Please bring a student situation you’re looking to get some feedback and ideas on how to address.
Helping Skills and Practice is offered monthly throughout the semester, with each session focusing on a different foundational skill and we encourage participants to register for and attend as many sessions as possible.
