DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program that teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge\, listen non-judgmentally\, give reassurance to someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge\, and refer a person to appropriate professional support and services. This course is designed to teach people how to approach\, assess\, and assist someone who may be experiencing early signs and symptoms of a mental health challenge\, worsening signs and symptoms\, or who may be experiencing a crisis. \nThis training is presented by Soumya Palreddy\, PhD\, and designed for UW-Madison Division of Teaching & Learning community members including faculty\, instructors\, advisors\, career services\, and learning support staff members. \nWhen: Wednesday\, October 9 and Thursday\, October 10 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (note: this training consists of two ½ day sessions – please register for both days) \nWhere: Memorial Union (please check “Today in the Union” for the exact room) \nWho: Faculty\, instructors\, advisors\, career services\, and learning support staff members \nREGISTER HERE!\nQuestions?
