SUMMARY:First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour for New Staff
DESCRIPTION:New advising\, career services\, and learning support staff are invited to experience UW-Madison’s First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour. \nThe First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour is an award-winning\, place-based\, walking tour that welcomes guests to learn about the First Nations of Wisconsin and the 14\,000+ years of human history in the area known as Teejop (Four Lakes) and Madison. Participants visit UW-Madison campus buildings\, historical markers\, and archaeological sites to discuss historic – and contemporary – relationships with First Nations. \nThis is a walking tour that will begin at the Memorial Union Information Desk and conclude towards the west side of campus. The walking tour is not fully physically accessible due to sustained periods of walking over various terrain such as stairs and inclines in elevation (e.g. Bascom Hill). DESCRIPTION:This Notes 101 orientation session (previously ANS 101) will provide an introduction to Notes in Advising Gateway and include a live demonstration on navigation and record entry\, guidelines for use of the system focusing on writing and interpreting advising notes\, and time for individual questions about using the system. \nThis orientation session is required for new users of the Notes in Advising Gateway. \nAny faculty or staff member who has a work purpose under FERPA to access individual student advising notes for their work are eligible to become authorized to use Notes in Advising Gateway.
